Measuring Political Orientation

Measuring Political Orientation

  • List parties voted for in the last: Rate how left or right these parties are.
    • participants may not remember
    • may have voted for one party to keep another out
  • Ask individuals to rate themselves on a spectrum regarding their political orientation
    • (This may not be entirely accurate as people do not always rate themselves accurately plus it has the problem of condensing a lot into a single scale.
  • We could use an implicit personality orientation test (as in Graham et al).
